Looking Back: The Broward League of Cities and the Broward County City Managers’ Association launched an educational initiative to inform Broward County residents about County Charter Amendment #2 that will appear on the November 2020 ballot. If approved, it would give Broward County the power to supersede municipal zoning and regulatory authority for projects on county properties that are funded in whole or in part by funds from the transportation surtax, even if the projects fall within municipal borders. I urge residents to reach out to their city officials to learn more about the far-reaching impact of this issue.
