Looking Ahead: Next Monday we will celebrate Labor Day, a national holiday created to honor and pay tribute to the American workforce and the hard work that has helped us realize our country’s ideals of economic prosperity. Because of COVID-19, this Labor Day seems especially poignant, as many Broward County residents may be struggling with unemployment, housing uncertainty, and so many other challenges. I encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the contributions of all workers, the blessings many of us have, and how we can help our fellow residents who may be in need this Labor Day.
