Looking ahead: October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, the second most common cancer found in women. Many of our cities will be sponsoring events to raise awareness and provide educational opportunities for diagnosis, treatment and support. These events include community walk-a-thons, lectures, recognition ceremonies and fund raisers. Additionally, Friday October 19th is National Mammography Day. Mammograms are the best defense to early detection, treatment and recovery. Encourage your family and friends -including men who are also victims of this horrible disease – to be aware, self-examine and see your doctor right away if any symptoms develop. Read
