Looking Back: Last week several Broward municipalities were informed by their service provider that paper will no longer be accepted as a recyclable after August 1, 2020. Recycling is an integral part of Broward’s solid waste programming, and is crucial to protecting our environment and public health. The League is united in support of recycling initiatives, and such programming remains a key focus of the recently established Solid Waste Task Force. Since its formation in the fall of 2019, the working group has focused on Broward’s solid waste challenges and is actively working to develop comprehensive county-wide solid waste and recycling solutions.
