Looking ahead: The 9th Annual Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit was recently held in Broward County. The focus was “The Business of Resilience,” fostering discussions on adaptation, climate and energy solutions and resilience. Not only do we need to develop solutions to today’s climate-related problems, we must also create plans to prepare for the future. These are critical issues that must be addressed by all of our cities, reinforced by Moody’s recent announcement that governments with higher exposure to climate risks need to start preparing and planning for climate change or risk higher interest rates.
