Looking Back: Even with enhanced hurricane tracking, improved Florida Building codes and local communication, we should appreciate the crucial role our local municipalities and first responders play when our ONE Broward community is faced with during a storm warning. While Broward County was spared from the most severe effects of Hurricane Ian, many residents felt the impacts of local flooding, heavy rain, and wind. Thank you to all the county and city personnel who worked around the clock to keep residents informed, the first responders who answered emergency calls, and aided in clean-up efforts not only here but statewide too.
