Looking Ahead: October is officially here and it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month- it’s the perfect time to show support for all those (both women and men) affected by breast cancer and a good reminder that early detection is so important. According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early, and is in the localized stage, the five-year relative survival rate is 99%. To ensure early detection, perform monthly self-exams and get your annual mammogram as prescribed by your doctor. If this past year and a half taught us anything, it taught us the importance of prioritizing health and wellness.
