April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Abandonment, physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse, and exploitation by a parent or caretaker are all forms of adverse childhood experiences that may have a lasting impact on a child’s health and development. Fortunately, our ONE Broward community has several non-profits and resources dedicated to providing stable and safe environments for children. Let’s embrace our county’s commitment to protecting our children. If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, report it to the Florida Abuse Hotline at 1-800-96-ABUSE. It’s our responsibility as adults to ensure our children have safe environments to grow and thrive in.
