February 3 – As we celebrate Black History Month, this year’s theme, Black Migrations, recognizes the movement of people of African heritage to new destinations and subsequently to new social realities. Focusing specifically on the twentieth century, these migration patterns have resulted in more diverse and stratified interracial and intra-racial populations. As a result, our cities are culturally rich with enhanced quality of lives for our residents as we share different traditions and histories. Cities throughout Broward will celebrate black history with a variety of activities. Check your city’s website and experience and learn from these events throughout Black History Month.
