Looking Ahead: Continuing education courses are common in various fields, and local government is no exception. The Broward Ethics Code requires all elected officials in Broward County to complete four hours of ethics training, within 120 days of taking office and on an annual basis. Twice a year the Broward League of Cities hosts complimentary interactive workshops for local elected officials who need to complete their four hours of training. I invite all newly elected officials, as well as those who are currently serving, to visit the League’s website (www.browardleague.org) to learn more about the League’s upcoming workshops.
