Last week: Thank you to Beam Furr for his leadership as our 2017-18 Broward County Mayor. Mayor Furr’s initiatives included working with neighboring counties on critical environmental partnerships; identifying recycling options; continuing the onboarding of the new county radio dispatch system and passage of the much-needed transportation surtax. As co-Chair of the league’s School and Community Public Safety Task Force, he played a vital role in identifying recommendations to enhance public safety. His outreach to the League has paved the way for improved and productive relationships and we look forward to working with Mayor Mark Bogen on these and other important issues. Read
