Looking ahead: Homelessness continues to be a significant issue throughout our communities. Recognizing that solutions are very challenging, we welcome the efforts of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, United Way and the Broward Workshop. We need to keep working on this until we find the right combination to help the homeless in our communities. Significant steps have been taken recently as business and community organizations have joined forces forming the “United We End Homelessness” initiative to house the homeless. There is much to do to help the 2,318 people who are experiencing homelessness in Broward County today. Read
