Looking ahead: I am honored to serve as 2018-2019 president of the Broward League of Cities. My goals are represented through this year’s initiative “Engage One Broward,” emphasizing the importance of engaging with members of the League in identifying solutions for affordable housing, solid waste, hurricane readiness and recovery, transportation, gun safety and other public safety issues. The need to continue to defend home rule is critical, as best decisions for municipalities are made locally. These issues are not unique to any municipality, but we all share the objectives of addressing challenges that impact our cities and defining opportunities for improvement. Read
