Looking Back: Last weekend two more communities were shattered by mass shootings. These unrelated attacks occurred within 24 hours of each other and strike close to home for many in Broward County. We mourn with the people of El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, and commend the first responders who reacted quickly in the face of danger. The issues surrounding gun safety are multifaceted and far-reaching, and several Broward cities are involved in related litigation. Now more than ever it is vital that we foster effective dialogues and work toward finding realistic and acceptable solutions for gun safety.
