Looking Ahead: Representatives from Broward municipalities and the County continue to discuss the future of Broward’s solid waste and recycling programs. The importance of this effort cannot be underemphasized, as the development of sustainable waste management program is vital to the continued growth of Broward County and directly impacts the public health of our citizens and communities. I am pleased to report that at the last meeting, a nine-member panel of municipal and County elected officials was selected to explore sustainable, collaborative solutions. I am confident as we enter the new year that we will continue to move expeditiously toward a comprehensive plan.
