Looking Ahead: Broward County municipal leaders recently have been faced with unprecedented times. Under challenging circumstances, they are making difficult decisions that reconcile the needs of society at large with the needs of their local residents. Through these uncharted waters, Broward’s municipal leaders have put residents first and leveraged home rule to supplement county, state, and federal mandates. It comes as no surprise, then, that several of our leaders have been honored with Home Rule Hero awards in Tallahassee. On behalf of the Broward League, thank you to all of the municipal leaders who give our communities a voice across the state.
