Looking ahead: My theme this year as president of the Broward League of Cities is Empowering One Broward, which means that as a League, we live up to and exceed our potential. Our organization collectively represents 1.8 million residents, and while, as elected officials, we serve our own residents, we share common interests in economic development, public safety, infrastructure, parks and playgrounds and preserving our environment. These issues are not unique to a single municipality and we may approach them differently. But all municipalities have a goal of empowering their cities to be great places to live, work, and raise a family. Read
