Looking Ahead: The very first Labor Day in 1894 was a significant holiday American worker- a step toward reducing extremely long work hours, crowded factories or buildings, and awful work conditions. As we look forward to Labor Day on Monday, it’s important to remember why we observe the day off- to celebrate teachers, first responders, and workers, across all industries who have tirelessly dedicated their time and talents to supporting their families and growing communities. I urge our one Broward community to embrace this day and acknowledge the contributions and achievements made by American workers.
