Looking Back: The Florida League of Cities Annual conference was held this past week in Hollywood, Florida. This year was a special one as the League celebrated its 100-year anniversary. Representing over 400 cities statewide, this conference provided an opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, and discuss future legislation. It was also an occasion for our one Broward community to recognize new statewide leadership. Mayor Wayne Messam of Miramar was installed as the President of the Florida League of Mayors and Mayor Greg Ross of Cooper City was installed as the 1st Vice President of the Florida League of Cities.

Looking Forward: Monday, August 15th is the day to showcase the pride you have in your city and local government by participating in the seventh annual City Hall Selfie Day. All employees, elected officials and residents are encouraged to take a selfie photo in front of your city hall, library, police or fire station or any other local government building. Creativity is encouraged. Embrace the moment, let your friends and neighbors know about it, and share your pride on social media using the hashtag #CityHallSelfieDay!
