Looking Ahead: National Night Out is Tuesday, August 2nd. Started in 1984, this national recognized campaign designed to improve relationships between communities and law enforcement began with neighbors turning on their porch lights and sitting in front of their homes. To build camaraderie and create that true sense of community policing this campaign has expanded throughout Broward. While multiple cities are celebrating the first Tuesday in August, others like Parkland celebrate on August 1st, with meet your SRO (School Resource Officer) night. I encourage you to bring your family, friends, and neighbors to your city’s event to EMBRACE our police-community partnerships.
