Looking Ahead: Luck is not a replacement for preparedness. We are mid-September and this is typically the most active time for tropical storms and hurricanes. There is no room for complacency. While time is on our side, I urge you to complete your storm preparations. At www.broward.org/Hurricane you can make advance arrangements for shelters including special needs shelters, evacuation transportation, and sign up for alerts. Now is the time to stock up on non-perishable food items, water, pet food, batteries, and gas for your generator. Also, don’t forget to trim tree branches that are close to your house or power lines.
