Last Week: Congratulations to the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) on celebrating its 40th anniversary. The MPO works to address overall mobility needs for regional transportation in Broward County. Broward’s cities are an integral part of the MPO, with each city having one elected official represented on its board of directors. Cities bring a local perspective and a municipal focus to the challenges created by ever increasing traffic. They work alongside other voting members of the MPO that include elected officials from the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, South Florida Regional Transportation Authority and the Broward County School Board.
