Last week: It has been a privilege to serve as president of the Broward League of Cities and to work with an extraordinary group of dedicated elected officials and business leaders. As part of my initiative Empowering One Broward, we continued to advocate to protect and defend home rule and collaborated regionally to push back on Florida’s firearms preemption law. Our communities joined together in solidarity after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas tragedy. Although we faced some difficult challenges this year, our elected officials always shared a common goal of empowering cities to be great places to live, work and raise a family. Read
