Looking Back: Congratulations to Government Studies scholarship award winners Gianna Brier and Sofia Rothenberg of Parkland, Adah Nelson (North Lauderdale) and Ashley Wong (Sunrise) for showing true commitment to a career path in public service. This year, the Broward League of Cities awarded four $1,000 scholarships to Broward County seniors who participated in internships and volunteering. They will pursue a college education focused on public service, public policy, government, and/or community affairs. To date, the Scholarship Program has donated more than $50,000 in financial assistance to students who have showcased strong leadership, communication, and judgment skills throughout their high school career.
