Last week: Government and media share common goals. Both educate the public by distributing important and timely information, and both have to be responsive to the needs of their constituents: the people. Government plays an important role by communicating information through elected officials about issues that often require community input and impact the community. Similarly, media educates the public and creates awareness that shapes public opinion. The public relies on both government and media to be credible and accurate.
