Looking ahead: In 2017, the Florida Constitution Revision Commission will convene and spend approximately one year studying state issues and meeting with citizens before proposing a list of possible changes to the state’s constitution. It is important that a municipal elected official be appointed to the Constitution Revision Commission so that the interests of our cities and our residents are heard and represented. The League continues to support municipal home rule authority and the restriction of unfunded state mandates. Citizens should get involved by attending and participating in public hearings and voting on any proposed amendments in November of 2018. Read
