June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month when our communities come together to celebrate and commemorate our LGBTQ+ neighbors and continue advocacy efforts for their equality. It is an opportunity and reminder for our ONE Broward Community to embrace the drive for a more inclusive world while recognizing some of the challenges we have and the work we still must do. Throughout the month there are numerous Pride events from festivals and parades to workshops and seminars. As local municipal policy decision makers, this is a time we should reflect, evaluate, and refine policies to ensure our LGBTQ+ residents have equal justice.
