Looking Ahead: With the start of summer, residents across Broward County are beating the heat by hitting the water. In addition to following social distancing, County, and CDC COVID-19 guidelines, we must also remember standard water safety procedures. Adequate adult supervision and preventative measures play a vital role in ensuring our children can enjoy the water safely. I want to remind all residents to never leave children unattended around bodies of water. Florida leads the country in drowning deaths of children, ages one to four. By learning the steps to safely secure children around water, we can prevent these tragedies.
