Looking Forward: The arrival of summer means more people than ever will be visiting beaches and pools throughout Broward County. As fun as aquatic activities can be, it is important that safety remains the top priority. Presence of adequate adult supervision, implementation of water watcher programs, and participation in swim lessons are all steps that can be taken to make aquatic environments and activities safer for children. Check with your local community centers to see what training and certification programs are available for aquatics safety, and never leave children unsupervised in or near water.
