January 27 – January is National Mentoring Month which recognizes the importance of mentoring as a critical component in the lives of our youth. Mentoring teaches life skills enabling our youth to be better prepared for the challenges they encounter as they enter adulthood. Currently, when many focus on what divides us, research shows that mentoring relationships are powerful tools for connection and are critical to our community’s future. Many Broward electeds are engaged in one on one mentoring programs as well as our cities that sponsor Youth Ambassador Programs. We need to make the investment today to provide for the future.
