Looking ahead: September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and as suicide rates continue to rise, the topic of suicide prevention is taking on new meaning. There are several local resources available to contact if you have concerns about yourself or a loved one where you can access confidential support. Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention offers programs for adolescents, seniors and the LGBT community. For 24/7 crisis assistance, call 2-1-1 First Call for Help or Henderson Mental Health Crisis Center at 954-463-0911. Read
