Looking ahead: Local governments and elected officials are pushing back on Florida’s punitive firearms preemption law that imposes sanctions on any municipality that enacts even the most reasonable of firearms regulations. Weston, Lauderhill, Miramar, Pompano Beach, Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Pinecrest, South Miami, Cutler Bay, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, St. Petersburg, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Boca Raton and Surfside and Broward County have filed in Tallahassee.
