Looking ahead: As elected officials we must learn from the shooting incident at Marjory Stoneman Douglas and do our best to make sure this type of tragedy does not happen again. The Broward League of Cities will convene a task force comprised of broad representation from community stakeholders to evaluate and prepare consensus recommendations intended to enhance school and community safety. The task force will analyze policy, legislation and operational opportunities and work to develop advocacy plans at the local, state and federal government levels.
