Within the next week, many of our cities and Broward County will kick off an educational campaign – A Penny At Work. This November 8th ballot item will include two questions that both relate to a proposed one percent sales surtax. One funds countywide transportation needs such as synchronized traffic signals, additional buses and light rail, the other funds municipal infrastructure needs such as repairing aging infrastructure and additional needs for improved public safety. Ask your local elected officials how these surtaxes will benefit your city, and become knowledgeable so you can make an educated vote on November 8th. Read.
