It is important for all of us to learn CPR. Recently, a Parkland equestrian trainer saved a student’s life because she knew CPR. Meg Green, one of fifty-seven percent of U.S. adults with CPR training, called 911 and started CPR. Recognizing the importance of CPR, Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise and Miramar are using PulsePoint, an app that alerts CPR-trained bystanders about a nearby Sudden Cardiac Arrest event and locates the closest automated external defibrillator, a device that checks the heart rhythm and sends an electric shock to try to restore a normal rhythm.
