Sun Sentinel 100 June 7, 2015 – 19 Broward County cities have been awarded the designation of “Platinum City” by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. Each city has adopted a streamlined permitting ordinance or resolution, has an online permit tracking system, and has designated a staff representative as a “concierge” to businesses that are going through the permitting process. Platinum City status is a powerful economic development tool and an advantage for these cities in attracting new business with the goal of opening their doors and providing jobs.
