Before we know it, summer will be over and drivers will be sharing the roads with children walking, biking, taking the bus or driving to school. This is the time to heighten your awareness of inexperienced teen drivers while you watch your own speed, observe traffic signals, refrain from drinking and driving and remembering to never text. The National Safety Council also cautions parents to limit the weight of backpacks to no more than 10 percent of a child’s weight to help prevent back and shoulder pain.
