Congratulations to the Broward County Public Schools on their 100 years of educational excellence. Opening its first two public schools in 1899 and officially established in 1915, the District is now, with 238 schools, centers and technical colleges, the sixth largest public school system in the nation and the second largest in Florida. We also applaud Broward communities for their commitment to work together with the District on issues such as affordable housing for our teachers to help attract and retain the most talented. Ultimately, we all have the same goal; to help where we can to ensure all of our students have the best opportunity to succeed. Read article.
