Congratulation to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance for being recognized as one of America’s leading economic development corporations by Global Trade Magazine. The Alliance’s creative and effective strategy for attracting business helped create or retain more than 22,000 direct high-value jobs from 2007 to 2015, a volume that impacted Broward County’s economy by $9.8 billion annually. Broward County had the second highest year-over-year employment gains among all 32 metropolitan divisions, with unemployment dipping from 5.4 percent to a low 4.5 percent.
