In addition to day-to-day operations of local government, 2016 will challenge elected officials to address critical issues including water resources; homelessness; additional affordable housing; transportation and how to plan for new roads and infrastructure; public safety and the consolidation of the E-911 communications system; solid waste collection policy and services; a more efficient permitting process to encourage new business growth; the proliferation of sober homes in our communities; and discussions and decisions concerning revisions to our County Charter.
